The Erb story

Erb is the inspiration and creation of its founder, Ms. Pattree Bhakdibuttra, one of Thailand’s leading fashion designers.

Pattree grew up with the ancient traditions of Thai herbal remedies as part of her daily life. Her strong belief in the benefits and effectiveness of these remedies grew from her own experiences of their very real results. Pattree came to respect the sophisticated preparation techniques used to create the remedies, as well as the meticulous pampering involved in the treatments.

Her fascination for herbal remedies inspired Pattree to research Thai culture and traditions further. Studying ancient manuscripts and texts and speaking with traditional Thai herbalist gurus only confirmed her passion for the benefits that Thai herbs can bring and she came to the decision to create a premium natural skincare range, inspired by ancient Thai herbal remedies and rituals.

In 2000, Pattree established Palama-lapa Co. Ltd., with four close friends and launched the brand Erb, which means ‘Glowing’ in Thai.

Erb was launched in the UK in January 2006, following the huge success of Erb in Thailand.

With over ten years’ experience in the beauty industry, Emalene Grove, now the UK Director of Erb, had noticed the rapid expansion of the UK beauty market and in particular the interest in spa treatments and products. She set out to find a well-presented range of effective spa products, and spent several years looking for a product to complement the philosophies, quality and standards that she aspired to for her day spa in the UK.



The Erb range fulfilled all the criteria. It is beautifully packaged, it offers a sense of mystery from the East and, most importantly of all, the products are highly effective. It has strong, authentic foundations, reflecting Thai culture and traditions, Erb encompasses the art of living. It reflects the harmony between mankind and nature and the blissful wellbeing that nature can bring. Erb products value the meticulous, ancient Thai way of life, which pays attention to every detail and makes life pleasurable at every step.
